The New Liverpool Museum

The New Liverpool Museum Opens – Following a tender in 2010 Protean were commissioned to design and develop a ‘Flexible Exhibition System’ for the new Museum of Liverpool. Located on the Mersey in a stunning new environmentally focussed building the museum opened to huge press attention and industry plaudits. The new museum is the biggest gallery of it’s type to be built in the UK in the last 100 years and represents a huge step forward in the creation of sustainable space.

Protean developed a flexible system to create both walling, structures to compliment the showcasing and lecterns throughout the building providing the option to update or refurb cost effectively in the future.  Protean’s ISO 14001 status was an important aspect in being awarded the project. The minimising waste, future reuse and recyclability were important considerations in all aspects  of the design, production and installation were all carried out on schedule by Protean utilising in house facilities throughout.
