The National Cancer Intelligence Network
Leading sustainable exhibition stand manufacturers, Protean Design, was commissioned to create two structures to be used at the National Cancer Intelligence Network (NCIN) Training Roadshows, which took place last year.
The challenge set for Protean was to design and develop a single solution, which could be re-configured for use initially for a 10 event regional launch programme, as well as provide a stand for future exhibitions and conferences. The proposal required a structure with interchangeable graphics and online demonstration areas with internet facilities.
Protean's proposal was based upon using the internally developed sustainable product, Lite system. Through its simple panel and node construction the system provided a visually effective, flexible solution which was durable to withstand the rigours of transportation and installation during a fairly intense programme of events, without refurbishment.
Colin Hibbs, Managing Director, from Protean Design commented: "Due to the quick turn around required for each roadshow event, Protean designed two Lite system pods which could be installed rapidly and cost effectively at each event by one driver/installer. These three sided pods can, however, be reconfigured to provide smaller pods or open walling to create various exhibition/ conference layouts with the additional ability to develop and expand at a later date."
Graphically the elements on each pod were interchangeable and each face was individually branded to promote the work of the NCIN, National Cancer Action Team and the NHS Patient Pathways.
Monitors were integrated into the displays to enable all three areas to demonstrate their work via PowerPoint presentations, CDs or the internet.
Chris Carrigan, head of the NCIN, said: "Protean's solution was ideal, providing us with a cost effective multiuse solution to help highlight the work of the NCIN. Through its flexible design, it is now being utilised by several other internal programmes at minimal cost, which helps us to improve our sustainability credentials. The roadshows were a great success and Protean Design was the perfect partner to assist with this project."
The NCIN was established to bring together relevant stakeholders and to produce expert analysis on cancer statistics, which monitors patterns of cancer care across the UK.
This initial highly successful roadshow event was organised for members of the NHS who are responsible for training existing employees
Lite is an exhibition display concept, designed in the UK exclusively by Protean and available for hire or sale worldwide. Lite is based upon a concept to provide one set of components to meet all three dimensional marketing needs.
