Protean Design provide flexible walling for Orange concessions in Asda

Leading retail sustainable systems manufacturer, Protean Design has been contracted to provide mobile phone retailer Orange, with walling for the first concession stand installation in supermarket chain, Asda.

Protean's Reform walling system was selected along with their modular flooring system, following Asda's decision to trial Orange concessions within its supercentres. If the concessions are successful they will be rolled out throughout 30 other supercentres, and possibly smaller stores.

These concessions need to be completed overnight in order to open at 08.00am the following morning and Reform walling was chosen because of the speed of installation, as well as the product quality and finish.

Cost was also an important consideration for the project and the Reform walling system was selected because of the speed and simplicity on site and also the flexibility for the installation to be revised cost effectively, which has already proved useful when updating the signage.

The Reform panels are supplied flat, making them easy to pack and transport. They are pre-finished with graphics applied prior to site, providing easily assembled walling that can be installed on site in a couple of hours. This utilises the unique clipping system within Protean's new reForm walling system.

Colin Hibbs, Managing Director at Protean Design, commented: "We are delighted to be part of the first ever Orange concession in an Asda store and hope that they prove to be successful.

"Easily customised, rapid to install and fully reconfigurable, the Protean system is applicable to any retail situation, where quality, ease of use and cost savings from re-usability are important factors."

The first Orange concession at Asda can be seen in Manchester's Eastland store.
